The UAE capital of Abu Dhabi is set to host the inaugural Abu Dhabi Business Week (ADBW) from December 4 to 6, 2024, at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC), under the patronage of HH Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council.
Organized by the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ADCCI) in partnership with the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO), the event aims to strengthen Abu Dhabi’s role as a regional business hub.
Themed "Deliver Value. Create Impact," ADBW will bring together over 150 speakers and 8,000 attendees, including policymakers, business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs, to explore new opportunities, develop strategic partnerships, and discuss sustainable economic growth.
ADBW will feature 10 specialized events, including the Abu Dhabi Business Forum, which will address topics such as global investment trends, business clusters, regulations, and public-private partnerships.
Additional events such as the Procurement Forum, Innovation Xchange, Global Manufacturing & Industrialisation Summit, Family Business Forum, Entrepreneurship Summit, and Youth Forum will examine topics like innovation, procurement, family businesses, and youth engagement, providing insights into Abu Dhabi’s economic landscape.
Recognized as one of the world’s wealthiest cities, Abu Dhabi manages approximately US$1.7 trillion in sovereign wealth fund assets, and holds the highest sovereign credit rating in the GCC. Non-oil sector growth has contributed to over 55% of Abu Dhabi’s gross domestic product (GDP), with a 6.6 percent increase in the second quarter (Q2) of 2024. Over the past decade, economic licenses in Abu Dhabi have grown by 196 percent, showing continued development in its economic environment.
In a statement, HE Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of ADCCI, pointed out that ADBW will play a key role in growing Abu Dhabi’s economy. "ADBW will serve as a platform for businesses to connect and collaborate, facilitating the next phase of growth and diversification," he said. "This event reflects our goal to empower businesses as part of our efforts to move toward a smart, diversified economy."
Al Zaabi also emphasized the Emirate’s approach to developing high-growth sectors, as well as its focus on sustainable development. “Supported by our sustainable development strategies and a focus on new sectors, Abu Dhabi’s business environment offers promising opportunities for investors, businesses, and talents to expand,” he said.
He also noted that non-oil sectors play a significant role in Abu Dhabi’s economy, and that ADBW will provide business leaders with tools to address challenges and explore new opportunities.
Beyond discussions on investment, ADBW will include workshops, panel discussions, and exhibitions showcasing recent innovations and services. Participants will be able to connect with industry leaders, explore new markets, and gain insights into trends shaping Abu Dhabi’s future as a regional business hub.
The event highlights Abu Dhabi’s strategy to enhance its position as a destination for business and investment, focusing on resource management, a favorable business environment, and long-term economic development.
