Gamechangers: AI | Galaxy for Technology’s Dr. Reema Diab Is Bridging The MENA's AI Skills Gap And Driving Social Inclusion
Diab was one of the innovators celebrated in the 2026 edition of Gamechangers: AI, an annual Inc. Arabia showcase of the business leaders driving the AI revolution in the MENA.
Galaxy for Technology is a Jordan- and Qatar-based non-profit organization dedicated to upskilling children, youth, and women, as well as marginalized groups, with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) and digital skills, and as its founder and CEO, Dr. Reema Diab is addressing one of the most critical challenges in the MENA region: the widening AI and digital skills gap, and the limited availability of Arabic-centered AI ecosystems.
“While the region has a rapidly growing young population, there is a structural mismatch between education outputs and future job market needs,” Dr. Diab explains. “This is compounded by low female participation in advanced technology fields, limited access to AI training in refugee and low-income communities, and the underrepresentation of the Arabic language in AI models and digital content.”
Galaxy for Technology’s programs have thus been developed around three integrated pillars: AI capacity building for the future workforce, with a focus on women and youth; AI-powered education transformation, supporting the transformation of traditional curricula into AI-enabled skills-based learning models; and, finally, inclusive AI for underserved communities, which deploys technology access and training programs to refugee camps and marginalized areas.
“For me, the most exciting part of the road ahead is witnessing a new generation of Arab AI leaders— women and men—who are not just users of technology, but creators of it, shaping global innovation while preserving their language, culture, and values,” Dr. Diab says. “AI, in this context, becomes more than a tool for growth; it becomes a platform for economic inclusion, cultural continuity, and sustainable prosperity for the region and beyond.”
