Meta is in discussions with celebrities like Awkwafina and Judi Dench, along with influencers, to use their voices in its MetaAI digital assistant product, according to the New York Times.[1]
The social media giant is also negotiating with comedian Keegan-Michael Key and other celebrities, with Hollywood’s top talent agencies involved. Although it is still uncertain who may sign on, Meta could potentially pay millions of dollars in fees if agreements are reached.
In May, Hollywood star Scarlett Johansson expressed her shock and anger after OpenAI launched a chatbot featuring a voice that bears an "eerily similar" resemblance to her own.
