The founder and CEO of Abwab.ai has been named one of Inc. Arabia’s Gamechangers for 2025—a list that recognizes leaders driving the artificial intelligence revolution in the MENA region.
As the founder and CEO of Abwab.ai, Baraa Koshak sits at the helm of a Saudi Arabia-based company that is using artificial intelligence (AI) to automate and—thereby accelerate—costly underwriting processes for banks and lenders. In addition to slashing decision-making time from weeks to minutes, Abwab.ai is helping lenders serve more clients—particularly SMEs—safely.
“AI-powered decision-making in financial services, especially underwriting, is massively underrated,” Koshak says. “Everyone talks about ChatGPT and generative AI, but the real impact lies in smarter, faster credit decisions that unlock capital for SMEs. To its credit, Abwab.ai’s numbers speak for itself. In a span of just five months, the company was able to onboard 16 clients and process more than SAR200 million (US$ 53.3 million) in loans. But Koshak believes this is just the beginning of his enterprise’s growth story.
“AI will be the default engine behind every lending deci sion in the GCC,” he predicts. “What excites me? Zero paperwork. Instant approvals. Safer lending at scale. It’ll unlock billions in capital for SMEs, fuel innovation, and power inclusive growth. The region’s already moving fast. We’re just making sure it moves smart.”
