Swiss Food Giant Nestlé Launches AI-Powered Innovation Hub In Dubai
Nestlé’s new SparX Innovation Hub is part of the UAE’s first Green Innovation District, a joint initiative of the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism and Expo City Dubai.
Swiss food giant Nestlé has launched the SparX Innovation Hub at its new MENA head office in Expo City Dubai, with the aim of accelerating artificial intelligence (AI)-powered, consumer-led innovation across the region.
The new hub is part of the UAE’s first Green Innovation District, a joint initiative of the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism and Expo City Dubai that counts Nestlé as a strategic partner. As a premier destination for innovative, environment-conscious businesses, the Green Innovation District aims to be a catalyst for a new era of sustainable growth.
SparX was inaugurated in the presence of HE Abdulla Bin Touq Al Marri, UAE Minister of Economy and Tourism, HE Reem AlHashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and CEO of Expo City Dubai Authority, HE Najeeb Mohammed Al Alim, Executive Director of the Expo City Authority, and Yasser Abdul Malak, Chairman and CEO of Nestlé MENA, among others.
In a statement, Al Marri said, “The UAE’s hosting of innovation and sustainability centers and advanced facilities affiliated with global companies reflects the growing confidence in the country’s economic environment, its advanced infrastructure, flexible legislation, and competitive business ecosystem. It also confirms that partnership with the private sector is a key element in developing vital industries, enhancing added value, and supporting sustainable economic growth.”

AlHashimy added, “Collaboration and innovation are crucial to creating the brighter future we all seek—a future where companies and governments alike place the human experience at the heart of their products, services, and policies. We are proud to see Expo City’s innovation ecosystem growing with the addition of the SparX Innovation Hub—and to have Nestlé as a strategic partner in the UAE’s first Green Innovation District.”
Malak said, “The MENA is one of the world's most dynamic regions, with consumers who are shaping global trends. SparX reflects our confidence in the talent, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit of this region. The best ideas come from bringing together diverse perspectives, challenging conventions, and staying relentlessly close to consumers. SparX embodies that mindset, creating an environment where technology enhances human creativity and where collaboration turns bold ideas into meaningful innovation.”
By combining AI with local consumer insight to identify emerging opportunities and develop products, services, and experiences across the region, SparX will bring together startups, universities, technology partners, and government entities to work on solutions together, drawing on Nestlé's understanding of the consumers it serves, alongside its use of data and other technologies.
Plus, through Nestlé's partnership with the Dubai AI Campus, an initiative of the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) that’s the largest dedicated hub for AI companies in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia region, SparX will enable its participants to capture real-time consumer signals and translate them into actionable insights that inform the company's broader innovation process across the region.
